| | Profile: Originally from Los Angeles, I'm a Nottingham-based production designer, recently turned short film producer and head of newly formed sabrewing films Ltd. As an artist I helped craft visuals from MTV and Nickelodeon to well known programmes like Heroes and Sesame Street and for a variety of artists from OutKast to the illustrator Edward Gorey. With the formation of sabrewing, I hope to develop promising stories, extending my detailed "mise en scène" approach into the film making process as a whole and maintaining a visual identity throughout. Last year I worked across seven different regional shorts made by EM Media, Screen Yorkshire and London’s Pulse scheme including producing THIS CHAIR IS NOT ME. This year I have completed one period short film and I'm in production with another highly visual short commissioned by the Derby Quad scheme in association with EM Media.
Prior to filmmaking, I worked in Advertising and Public Relations in New York City.
I feel that I'm highly organized, resourceful and tireless. I actually really enjoy the paperwork and closure you get from making sure everything is in order as a Second AD.

| | Profile: Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Rana El Jamal, I am a 2005 graduate in Communication Arts and I am seeking a position in the Audio-Visual field involving challenging and innovative projects. I am a fresh graduate with a postgraduate diploma in film and video production.
I have worked for 2 years as a Promotion Director in a Lebanese TV station meeting with broadcasting deadlines and withstanding the pressure of a demanding position. I have also worked as a junior producer in a local production company which gave me an on-field experience along side a solid understanding of the various tasks and jobs related to a project, from pre to post –production. As for my experience in feature films and documentary-reality show as an assistant director or assistant producer has improved my skills and established my confidence in this domain.
I believe that my background, my work experience and my yearning for more practice will add value to my experience and to the quality of my work.
I am resident in the UK with the permission to work, also have a National Insurance Number and ready to start immediately.
Hoping you find a potential interest in my profile, I thank you in advance and await your kind reply,

Profile: I am a London based filmmaker, having worked across the media industry over the last 7 years around my studies and my work in Business/IT.
Roles have varied from Assistant Producer to student Director, through to Production Assistant and 1st AD. My work has been both independent and for major production companies.
As a 1st AD, I have had the opportunity to shoot in distinguished locations (Pinewood Studios, Marshall Amps), on a variety of formats (HD, 16mm, DSLR), and for differing purposes (features, shorts, trailers, music videos). Recent work is also soon to be shown at the Cannes and Berlin film festivals.
I am also looking for work experience in any areas of Development and Post Production. My ultimate aim is to perfect my skills for producing and directing my own features in a few years down the line.
Having worked as a Business Consultant with IBM and won student awards as a Project Manager and Charismatic Leader, I have an ability to effectively lead people with personality and good humour!

| | Profile: Hopefully, it's the same people who read the applications and you'll already know all of this. If not, I hope you find it funny and enlightening.
I left uni in 2005 and said 'I want to be an editor'.
5 years, 2 cities and 6 jobs later, I'm a decent VT and encoding operator who's just figured out they want to be a 1st AD.
I have AD experience on short films and music videos, I've managed crews of up to 25 (industry professionals, runners fresh from uni and everyone in between). I'm used to long hours, tight deadlines and tighter budgets and I'll always get my hands dirty (no job is too small).
At 5 foot tall and 90lbs, I’m currently the smallest purple and white belt in my Mixed Martial Arts class. Still, I don’t let that stop me trying out flying arm bars and Anaconda chokes on hairy nurses twice (I’m being kind, sorry, thrice) my size. I also like to hit the pads very hard but I’m not a big fan of stand-up sparring (it’s the reach advantage, you see).
I write (short and feature scripts) when I’ve not been distracted by tvtropes.org and I spend a lot of time reading paramedic blogs.
I like television, film, books, vintage hairdryers and watching Eddie Bravo tutorials on youtube.
